White dogwood seedlings are a great choice if you’re looking for a landscape tree to provide beauty for the majority of all four seasons.
In the spring, this tree provides beautiful white, pink, or red flowers that attract insects that pollinate, and then the deep green leaves take over in the summer. The leaves turn bright red in time to complement the fall and red berries sprout for birds and other animals to enjoy in the winter. This tree’s trunk can grow as a single or multi-trunked tree, supporting multi-layered branches. It grows in an umbrella-like and rounded shape, so if you’re wanting to grow one in your yard, it is recommended that it is planted at least 15 feet away from your home.
White dogwood trees are low maintenance, but frequent watering is recommended.
For drier climates, it is recommended this tree is watered twice a week. Fertilization is not required as too much fertilizer can be harmful to these trees. Pruning is not necessary to maintain them, but if you choose to do so it should be done in late fall or winter. Diseased, damaged, or dead branches should be pruned immediately.
