It produces round-shaped fruit that carries its seeds and that remain on the tree until the winter months.

It’s also a great shade tree and is one of the most popular choices for commercial hardwood lumber in the United States. It also attracts a range of wildlife such as various birds (among them being finches, turkeys, and morning doves, to name a few) and ground animals such as chipmunks and squirrels who like to feast on the fruits and seeds produced by the sweetgum tree. In the right conditions, the sweetgum tree can grow between 1-2 feet per year.

It can thrive in various soils, requires very little upkeep, and has a range of vibrant and beautiful colors to add to your landscape. It attracts a range of wildlife, making it not only an excellent choice for your landscape, but has tangible environmental benefits as well.
