We ship all plants usps priority mail. They arrive to most locations within 2-3 days. We package all plants to retain moisture to up to 10 days in transit. All plants ships from our warehouses in Tennessee. All plants are grown and shipped from out Altamont (zip) 37301 location. We do drop ship for re-sellers also for those wanting to resell our plants.
How We Protect Your Plants For Transit
All plants are dug and immediately taken to our warehouse and tera-sorb moisture retention gel is applied to the roots and then wrapped in plastic to retain superior moisture for transit. They are placed in corogated cardboard shipping boxes for protection when shipped
Upon Receipt Of Your Plants
Upon receipt of your plants, unpack and unwrap the roots and mist with water. Plant within 24-48 hours. If you can not plant within this time frame, put your plants in a cool location (ex- basement, garage or cellar) and water the roots daily. Cover them back up with the plastic so they will not dry out until you can plant them. After planted, water every evening after the sun goes down for 5 days.

The River Birch Live Stakes hardy planting zone ranges between 3-9.
The wide range of planting zone makes this tree a versatile, durable, and easy to grow tree no matter the soil or temperature. Planting zone 4 has a slower growing season due to temperatures that average -20 degrees Fahrenheit. The average temperatures for planting zone 9 are 25 degrees Fahrenheit to 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
The River Birches bloom season is from April to May. The male tree produces brownish leaves, and the females have green leaves.
The River Birch produces beautiful leaves, and many of the leaves last through the winter season.
During the spring, the River Birch flowers and the male flowers, which are catkins, produce cylinder looking flower clusters with little to no petals. The cylinder cluster contains many unisexual flowers. Usually, these flowers are wind-pollinated.
The growth rate for the River Birch is slow to moderate. It can grow to the height of up to 40 to 70 feet tall at maturity and grow to be as wide a 40 to 60 feet. It is producing a lot of shade.
The River Birch does well in a variety of soils. Preferably, medium to light moisture. It likes water and is a drought-resistant tree as well. You can find it in immensely moist areas in the United States, such as marsh areas and dry zones. Their roots grow deep, so they do need plenty of growing room.
You can plant the River Birch in direct sunlight to capture all the sun's rays or lightly shaded areas. It is a tree that enjoys colder climates, but due to its versatility, it is heat tolerant as well.
