AJUGA REPTANS – BUGLEWEED PLANT

Bugleweed likes partial to full shade and can deal with some direct sunlight but too much sun will scorch your plant. Soil needs to be well drained and does tolerate low fertility soil and will also grow in poor soils. The height is not in the flower; it is in the stem, and the stem may raise up to 6 inches above the foliage and will spread out about one to three feet. The colors are blue, indigo, violet, white and pink. Most have very dark blue blooms and sometimes has purple flowers also. The foliage color can be three Different types. The types are a light green, a dark green, and variegated. Some foliage may be a light to dark green with a slight hint of purple, maroon, bronze, or even a multi-color. The purple leaved ones are mostly heated and cold tolerant. The flower stalks are upright with spikes, and the small flowers are borne along an erect stem that rises about the foliage.
