Live Stakes: Natural Erosion Control
Garden Plants Nursery offers premium fresh cut live stakes. This is a natural and highly effective method to stop erosion along a river, stream or lake.
As stream banks erode quickly due to water movement, planting live stakes can add stability to these areas. Planted in the soft mud, they will quickly grow a root system. Drive the stakes gently into the ground at a right angle. They should be firmly attached (not loose), with about 70% underground and about 30% above ground.
Choices at Garden Plants Nursery include:
Black Willow, also named swamp willow, which loves damp conditions and provides a unique look.
The Red Ozier Dogwood has twigs and stems that are a bright, blood red color that really stands out in snow or drab winter conditions.
So you can accomplish your large projects, we sell our stakes in groups of 100.
Quality Stakes from a USDA certified grower.
