BRANDYWINE MAPLE - ACER RUBRUM L 'BRANDYWINE'
Brandywine Maple Tree- Acer Rubrum
The brandywine maple tree is beautiful shade tree from the sapindaceae family. It grows up to 35 to 50 feet high and has a 25 to 40 foot spread length. The brandywine has vibrant red blooms that bloom between March and April and is a low maintenance tree requiring wet, shady environments. Brandywine Maple has a smooth gray bark when it is young and later develops a dark, rough bark as it ages. The foliage is medium sized and grows anywhere from four to six inches in length. This foliage turns bright red color in the fall and as it progresses becomes a shade or purple before finally falling from the tree. This tree is a hybrid and creates only male flowers, so seedlings are not an issue from this tree, as are fruit from this tree. This hybrid tree has a rather moderate growth and can quickly add as much as three feet to its height per year. This maple tree is remarkably adaptable and grows in a vast variety of soils. This tree prefers moist soils that are slightly acidic, but can adapt too many differing areas. This tree has a natural oval shape to it. This maple tree needs full sunlight to grow and cannot develop in shaded areas. This tree can grow to heights of fifty feet and have a spread of thirty feet. The foliage isn't that thick and so it is not as useful for a shade tree but is a beautiful ornamental tree, thanks to its brilliant colors and low maintenance. This maple tree is known to be extremely resistant to the pest known as the potato leafhopper. Add this gorgeous tree to your landscape! Buy it from us today!
