This fern can go by it's common names of Boston fern, Sword fern, Fishbone fern and the Wild Boston fern. It is a tropical plant that prefers to grow in USDA Climate Zones nine through eleven. Of the ferns, it is one of the most drought tolerant, although it does prefer damp conditions. Ferns do not prefer the sun are prefer to grow in the shade or the diluted sun. They have a mature size of six inches to a foot in height and size of six inches to a foot in width. Being a compact plant they are perfect for landscape or indoor plants ideal for placing in indoor hanging baskets or small pots.
