The Appalachian Sedge is very adaptable. It can be grown in the ground or in pots, and can be grown in almost any soil. It does best in dry, well drained soil though. It grows to be about a foot tall, and requires little watering or maintenance. It is very easy to manage. Appalachian Sedge is a very adaptable to many conditions. It can tolerate full shade, partial shade, or even full sunlight. Although it does prefer to be in shaded areas. This plant will do well in dry, moist, or even wet soils. It makes the Sedge perfect for a potted plant, ground cover, or even around a pond or lake. At full maturity, it will have up to 10 inches of height, and width of 8 to 10 inches. The sedge will work in climate zones 3-9. Due to the attractive fountain shape it would also make an excellent border plant as well. Sedges are great plants to grow in any climate because all they need is a little water to grow and thrive well. Plant these around a dull lake or pond will make a statement and bring life to any area.
