We dig plants when your order is received, and ship immediately via US Priority Mail. You will receive a tracking number via email when plants are shipped. All plants are packed to be safe in their packages for up to 3 days after receipt.

How We Protect Your Plants For Transit

We sell only bare root plants. We dip the roots in tera-sorb silicone gel to retain ample moisture for transit and surround with plastic. This provides superior protection for plants in transit for up to 12 days.

Upon Receipt Of Your Plants

Open your plants and inspect the same day received. We offer 3 days to report any problems with your order. Bare root plants need to be planted within 2-3 days of receipt unless weather prohibits. Store in a cool place and keep roots moist and covered with plastic until they can be planted. Water daily for the first week after planting.


Pokeweed plants are a rich green color with stems that are white or light pink.

The leaves are almond-shaped and are a bright shade of green until the summer when the leaves darken. Pokeweed plants produce small white flowers that grow in clusters. Over time, the white blooms turn into burgundy or dark purple berries. The berries are similar to appearance to currants and about one-fourth of an inch in diameter. The plants grow wild and thrive in several natural environments. If you want to grow pokeweed yourself, the plants do well in hardiness zone 8a but can grow in various types of soil, including moist, drained, and slightly acidic. Pokeweed is an ideal landscaping plant. The berries hang neatly from the small branches.

Mockingbirds are particularly fond of the pokeweed and eat the berries of the plant.   Pokeweed grows to about nine feet tall at maturity, but some plants can grow as tall as 20 feet. The plant thrives in harsh conditions and will last through the year with proper care. The blooming season starts at the beginning of spring and lasts well into autumn.
